The Steps to Home Ownership

  1. Meet with mortgage loan officer, turn in income and bank statements, and get pre-approved
  2. Meet with real estate agent
  3. Find your home and make offer
  4. The seller accepts offer
  5. You put up earnest money which is held in escrow
  6. Buyer and seller ratifies contract
  7. Home inspections are done and then appraisal is ordered
  8. You meet with loan officer again to bring all remaining items on your check list
  9. Loan file is processed and submitted for underwriting approval
  10. Buyer provides any additional documentation required for final loan approval
  11. Closing documents are sent to the title company
  12. The loan is then funded
